A representative of Jim's Auto Repair in Lehighton reported to state police the loss of nearly $3,000 following an alleged scam on Craigslist.
James Hunsicker of Jim's Auto Repair, 865 Interchange Road, told state police in Lehighton he had cashed a check through a Craigslist transaction. Then, the person who wrote the check asked if he could send the funds back through Western Union, in which Hunsicker complied, police said.
The original check was then canceled by the suspect, police said. Hunsicker estimated a loss of $2,950.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
