Very heavy rain hit parts of the region on Monday night and more could fall today, the weather service says.

After a night of heavy rain, the region will remain in a flash flood watch until 8 tonight, the National Weather Service reports.
Another "weather disturbance" is expected to arrive by midday and stay around into the evening, the weather service says. Showers and thunderstorms are likely, with the possibility of significant downpours, the weather service said.
Rainfall on Monday was between 2 and 6 inches across the region, the weather service said. Road and poor-drainage-area flooding are possible today, with flash floods entering the picture if downpours occur, the weather service said.
