The man had medical issues, the coroner says.

A Polk Township, Monroe County, man, who was found Saturday morning at the bottom of his swimming pool, likely died from natural causes and did not drown, the county coroner's office reported this morning.

Verlyn E. Landuyt, 76, of Turkey Ridge Road, was discovered by family members, Pennsylvania State Police at Lehighton report.

An autopsy was done Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township, Coroner Bob Allen said. The cause and manner of death are still pending, but Allen said it will likely be due to natural causes. Landuyt had medical issues, Allen said.

The investigation is continuing and "nothing suspicious (was) observed at the scene," police said.
