The 31-year-old fell about 40 feet off the Glen Onoko Falls.

Authorities have identified the woman who fell to her death Saturday afternoon in Lehigh Gorge State Park.

Perla Cabral, 31, of New York, was pronounced dead Saturday after falling about 40 feet from the Glen Onoko Falls, according to Carbon County Coroner Bruce Nalesnik. She fell from the second set of falls that are located in Lehigh Township, he said.

Cabral was hiking with someone from Lehigh County, specifically the Emmaus area, according to Nalesnik. Authorities released Cabral’s name after notifying her mother, who lives in California, he said.

When medical personnel arrived at the falls, Cabral was responsive, but she died as they were taking her out of the park, Nalesnik said. She was pronounced dead in a parking lot of the state park in Jim Thorpe, he said.

State officials are investigating the incident because it happened in a state park, according Nalesnik. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Cabral is a concert promoter and musician in New York, according to her website.
