Jim Markey, spokesman for Jersey Central Power & Light, estimated 117 customers in Hunterdon County and 10,188 customers in Warren County were without power. He did not have a time frame for when power would be restored.

Thousands of PPL customers in the dark across the Lehigh Valley should regain power by this evening, according to a spokesman for the utility.

PPL Electric Utilities spokesman Kurt Blumenau said crews are working overtime to bring power back to about 3,170 Northampton County customers and 570 Lehigh County customers.

"We've staffed up for the night," he said. "We have an extra complement of crews out there."

Blumenau expected the majority of customers to regain power this evening.

For Metropolitan Edison, about 1,900 Northampton County customers are without power and fewer than 50 outages were reported in Lehigh County, said Met-Ed spokesman Marc Troutman.

Troutman expected customers to regain power progressively throughout the evening.

"Right now, we are assessing and calling in crews," he said. "We will be working on it until the wee hours of the morning."

Jim Markey, spokesman for Jersey Central Power & Light, estimated 117 customers in Hunterdon County and 10,188 customers in Warren County were without power. He did not have a time frame for when power would be restored but said crews were working on the lines now.

"(We won't know) until we get a complete assessment," Markey said about power being restored.
