An Upper Mount Bethel Township man faces charges after a pound of marijuana shipped to him via FedEx was intercepted, Colonial Regional police report this morning in a news release.

Andrew Rushin, 34, of the 2000 block of Mount Bethel Highway, was arraigned before District Judge James Narlesky on charges of possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of marijuana, police said. He was released on $50,000 unsecured bail.

Police intercepted the package at the Fed-Ex location at 126 Commerce Way in Hanover Township, Northampton County, police said.

Court papers say Rushin, who is represented by attorney Gary Asteak's office, gave up his right to a preliminary hearing. He is scheduled for a formal arraignment 1 p.m. Jan. 23 in Northampton County Court in Easton, court papers say.
