The National Weather Service is warning about accumulation this weekend.
Good news, snow lovers: The National Weather Service is forecasting 6 to 8 inches of snow this weekend for most of the Lehigh Valley and northwest New Jersey.
Precipitation is expected to begin Saturday morning and end Sunday morning, the weather service said this afternoon in a news release. Some ice could accumulate with the snow.
Some areas will see a mix of snow, sleet, freezing rain and rain, but areas north and west of Philadelphia could see all snow, the weather service says.
Temperatures will start below freezing when the storm hits, the release says, which means areas that will see mostly rain later in the day could have some snow accumulation on roads and other untreated areas.
The Weather Channel puts our area in the 3- to 5-inch range and the 5- to 8-inch range, and it says there is still uncertainty about where the storm will track.
