A dense fog advisory is in effect until 9 o'clock. Before dawn the temperature is below freezing.
This morning is going to require a bit of thought.
It's foggy outside. The National Weather Service says visibility at points is less than a quarter of a mile. A dense fog advisory is in place until 9 o'clock.
But fog alone isn't causing school delays. Check out the list. Parkland and Catasauqua, for example, have two-hour delays.
That's because in addition to a chilled fog, it's very chilly outside. Twenty-nine degrees at 6 o'clock.
So, the roads are wet from the fog and the temperature is below freezing.
Ice is not out of the question.
Don't believe me?
Here's the weather service: "Untreated pavements are reported to be icy from Philadelphia's northwestern and western suburbs through the Lehigh Valley and northwest New Jersey. Impacts: The dense fog ... in some cases icy roads ... will cause travel delays this morning."
Be careful out there.
