The Hamburg, Pa., barracks commander says the trooper's blood-alcohol content was above 0.08, the level at or above which a driver is considered drunk.
Pennsylvania State Police say they've suspended a trooper who was driving drunk in his marked police cruiser.Officials say 47-year-old Trooper Kevin Wackley has been suspended without pay while the incident is under investigation.
Hamburg barracks commander Sgt. Robert Wagner says a local officer who had spoken with Wackley on Thursday night alerted state police that he may have been drunk.
Wagner says fellow troopers found Wackley had a blood-alcohol content above the legal limit for drivers of 0.08.
Police say a charge of driving under the influence will be sent to Wackley by summons. A phone number for him could not immediately be located.
Wagner says investigators will determine if Wackley should also face administrative charges.
